Volunteers

Wrentham Youth Baseball Softball Association (WYBSA) is run by volunteers. Our volunteers are our greatest asset, from our dedicated coaches, to the volunteers who run the snack shack during the season, to the board of directors who commit many hours throughout the year.

Coaches

Coaches are our greatest asset! We are always looking for quality coaches especially for the younger players. What makes a quality coach? A basic understanding of the game of baseball or softball and the ability to make the game FUN for all of the players. A quality coach does not yell, does not demand perfection, and does not favor one player over another. A quality coach communicates with players, parents and umpires. If you think you could make a
good coach then please let one of the commissioners know or contact us and we will forward your information.

Snack Shack

Ever wonder how Slush Puppies are made? You can find out by volunteering for the SNACK SHACK. Each family is required to run the snack shack one night during the season and we do our best not to schedule this during your child's game. Running the snack shack is actually a great deal of fun, just ask anyone who has done it before! Please step forward when your child's coach asks for volunteers. Thanks for your support!

Team Parent

This position involves different things for different teams. At the most basic level it involves contacting players after a coach cancels practices or games.

Field Set Up / Clean Up Day

Twice a year we ask everyone to come out on a Saturday and help get the fields ready for the season. Bring a rake, a wheelbarrow, a shovel or just bring yourself! This is our chance to get the fields ready for the season or get everything put away before the winter. Your help is always greatly appreciated.

Tournament Weekends

Show your Wrentham pride to the surrounding communities! It is honor to be able to host either a baseball or softball tournament (think all star game). We always want Wrentham to looks its best when teams travel from anywhere in New England to play on our fields in our town. Some of positions that need to filled (in 3-4 hour slots) are grounds crew, scoreboard operator, snack shack duty, announcer and many others. Please check back to this site often to find out if or when we will be hosting a tournament.
